Respite Care/Short Term Care
Respite care is a short-term break in a community for caregivers. When you look after someone who’s sick or disabled, it’s a 24/7-hour job. Caregivers need a break from time to time to look after their own needs. Caregivers sometimes need time to rest and relax, go on vacation, shop, go to appointments, work, or exercise. That’s where respite care can help. The break can be as long or short as needed. Communities usually offer furnished private rooms for respite residents.
Respite care is good for a caregiver who cares for somebody who needs attention around the clock. A caregiver may need respite care for their loved one if they are in charge of someone with one of the following conditions: cancer, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia or stroke.
