Hospice

​​​​​Hospice is care at the end of one’s life. During an illness that can’t be cured, you or a loved one may decide the treatments meant to cure or slow a disease are no longer working, or you are just ready to stop them. Even with death on the horizon, the quality of each day is important to the patient.

Hospice provides relief from pain, shortness of breath, and other symptoms so that you can focus on the people and things you care about the most. That's when hospice, or end-of-life care, may help.

Hospice also offers family members counseling and help with practical things such as cleaning the house and shopping. Hospice can be provided in an individual’s own home or in a community.
